Welcome

The Association des Commerçants de grains du Québec (ACGQ) includes representatives from 22 businesses trading grain or otherwise interested in the grain trade.

However, via its accreditation by the Régie des marchés agricoles et alimentaires du Québec (RMAAQ), ACGQ represents over 130 people and businesses buying grain for resale purposes in the same condition.

Members’ Profile


Welcome

Regular members must meet the following conditions:

  • Place of business in Québec and an active representative in Québec;
  • Grain marketing, processing and handling in Québec, in Canada and internationally, as well as having appropriate physical infrastructures (silos, scales, etc.);
  • Securities dealer account recognized by the Autorité des marchés financiers (A.M.F.);
  • Volume of at least 500,000 tonnes of grain traded or processed annually;
  • Holding a license issued by the Régie des marchés agricoles et alimentaires du Québec under the Règlement sur la mise en marché des grains. Respecting this regulation is mandatory;
  • A membership written request must be presented to the Board of Directors, which has a discretionary power to accept or deny the applicant as a member, with no obligation to justify its decision. This request must be made using an application form provided for that purpose;
  • In good standing with the Association, meaning having paid the annual and special contributions, as defined and set by the Board of Directors.
  • Activities related at least in part to the grain trade. This category includes, but is not limited to, banking and financial institutions, or any other organization;

Associate Member A must meet the following conditions :

  • Place of business in Québec and an active representative in Québec;
  • Grain marketing;
  • Holding a license issued by the Régie des marchés agricoles et alimentaires du Québec under the Règlement sur la mise en marché des grains. Respecting this regulation is mandatory;

Associate Member B must meet the following conditions :

  • Place of business in Québec;
  • Activities related at least in part to the grain trade. This category includes, but is not limited to, banking and financial institutions, or any other organization;
  • Completed Association des commerçants de grains du Québec application form;
  • A membership written request must be presented to the Board of Directors, which has a discretionary power to accept or deny the applicant as a member, with no obligation to justify its decision. This request must be made using an application form provided for that purpose;
  • In good standing with the Association, meaning having paid the annual and special contributions, as defined and set by the Board of Directors.

Promoting and representing interests of businesses specializing in the grain trade in Québec, and contributing towards the development of healthy and modern practices for a sustainable industry.
